Iguana Chocolate

My name is Karuna,  I am a chocolatier and chief bottle washer at Iguana Chocolate in Lesmahagow, originally a small mining village in Scotland.

From the age of 3 I remember watching my mom and grandmother cooking and baking, especially at festival times like Diwali. Our house always had such amazing smells coming from the kitchen. I loved playing with spices, flour and anything I could get my little hands on much to the horror of my grandmother.

Over the years my adventures led me to become a costume designer, cake decorator, confectioner, Indian vegetarian and Italian chef.

I have finally found my passion in creating indulgent, quirky chocolates. All my products are made in small batches and I don’t compromise on the quality of my ingredients. My handcrafted chocolates comprise a range of luxury flavour combinations, some traditional and some inspired by my South African heritage, just like my mango and chilli dark chocolate which was inspired by my mom and won a Gold Star in The Great Taste Awards this year.
