Description
A big flower, a daisy maybe, a stained glass suncatcher which I make in a range of colours and colour schemes. Like all my suncatchers, they are entirely handmade with love and designed to hang in the window and catch the light.
The flower comprises 16 petals, all differently shaped and using different types and textures of glass which encircle a central fused glass nugget. I make most of the nuggets myself in my little fusing kiln to ensure I have the colour I need for each flower and to make each one that little bit more special and unique.
Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped on my grinder then carefully wrapped in copper foil before all the pieces are soldered together to create the flower.
Once the pieces are all soldered together I add a little wire ring for hanging.
The flower hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached to the wire ring at the top. I always supply a strong suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang. I attach the chain using split rings so you can replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.
It is approximately 14cm in diameter but because of the shape of the petals can vary up and down by a centimetre or so.
Please note I only keep in stock one of each colour but if you did want more than one of the same colour please contact me first and I will do my best to make another for you. Or if I don’t have a colour in stock that you want then please get in touch and I will make you one.
Please also note that no two are ever the same. I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass for the 16 petals even in the same colour option.
