Leaves or Ribbons Stained Glass Square Franed Suncatcher

£32.50

A choice of vibrantly coloured suncatcher. Jewel coloured Ribbons or brighest coloured Leaves.
Entirely hand crafted using the stained glass copper-foil technique.

The Ribbons swirl down from a dichroic topped red glass nugget, fused in my kiln and are in gorgeous shades of reds, purples, blues and turquise.  This design was inspired by a visit to India and the glorious shades of the saris on display everywhere.  The border is a prettily texured clear glass with a bright red for the corners to pick up the colour of the nugget.

I designed the Leaves after seeing how the buds are beginning to appear on the trees and hedgerows, a wonderful harbinger of Spring and wanted to capture the lovely colours of leaves. I’ve used reds, ambers, greens and yellow. The border is a prettily texured clear glass with a sparkling green for the corners.

A perfect gift.

These are approximately 16cm by 16cm and you can choose the design you want by clicking its little picture before adding to basket.

They both do look lovely hanging in the window catching the light and spreading its colours. Also very effective as a picture hanging on the wall.

Made with and by Joy to be given with love.

Postage is charged as Royal Mail 1st class small package signed for to cover the value.

Leaves or Ribbons. Both my own unique designs.  Striking glass suncatcher in glass using the lovely varieties of type, shade and texture of glass to ‘paint’ a picture, as I never could with paints and canvas.

Like all my suncatchers, these are entirely handcrafted with love.

Beautifully bright and cheerful and they casts really lovely colours when hung in the light of a window.

Very special suncatchers to brighten your room and your life.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped then carefully wrapped in copper foil before all the pieces are soldered together to create the suncatcher. Once the pieces are all soldered together I add a ‘frame’ of twisted wire. This gives the suncatcher neatness and also strength.  I then add little wire rings for hanging.

The suncatcher hangs from a  silver chain which is securely attached to the wire rings at the top. I always supply a strong suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang. I attach the chain using split rings so you can replace it, maybe with a ribbon, quite easily.

They are both approximately 16cm x16cm, excluding the length of the chain.
Please note that when photographing the Ribbons I noticed there is a small mark on the bottom border. This is just a blemish on the glass and is a feature not a fault.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers  are ever the same even to the same design. I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.

Posted out Royal Mail first class and signed for, with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you.

My Shipping Policy

I will always do my very best to post out same or next day and I post first class. I can generally post every day except Sundays and bank holidays. I post from my local post-office which is very reliable and it is very rare for my packages to go missing. They are very clearly labelled and also have my return address on the outside. I copy / paste the address you supply to make sure I don’t accidentally change it and the only change I do make is to auto change post codes to Upper Case where necessary.

My glass is always very securely packaged to try allow for posties playing football with them at the sorting office so they are well padded out inside and I use tape round the outside, where appropriate, to provide extra bouncability. I recycle packaging wherever possible.

I use some rather innovative (!) boxes for packing my smaller pieces of glass. Takeaway / microwave lidded boxes which are incredibly useful as they are air-tight so great for my storage of finished pieces and see-through so I can tell what is inside.
They also, with the addition of a small amount of bubblewrap, provide a very good protective cocoon for the glass in the post.
And an added advantage is that you can reuse the box once you have removed the glass !

Larger pieces which don't fit into my boxes are sent in see-through popper envelopes and are very well padded with bubble, cardboard and bouncy tape.

I always include a suction hook with each piece. These are as strong as I can find but it is a good idea to reseal to the glass every week or so by pressing firmly in the centre. Heavier pieces are safer hung from a permanently located hook. My glass pieces are as strong as I can make them and I do give consideration always to strength when putting them together but they are made of glass and prefer not to be dropped onto a hard floor.

Most of my packages do not go through the letter box as it is impossible to get them flat enough while protecting with enough padding. If your package has not arrived a couple of days after posting please check to see if it has been left in a secure place somewhere or check with your postie. The only packages I send by large letter post in PIP boxes to go through the letter box are pieces of jewellery and small fused pieces. I do not consider the depth of the boxes, maximum 2.5cm, adequate for the padding needed to post any other pieces of my glass safely.

I post lower priced individual items standard first class but more expensive items and orders for more than one piece may need to be sent signed for first class to allow cover from Royal Mail in the unlikely event of a problem. The system should charge you the correct postage to allow for that. If it charges you too little then my mistake, my loss. If too much then I will refund you the excess.

OVERSEAS ORDERS

Yes please. I love to send my glass to a new home and will happily post anywhere that someone wants it. I do however tend to only set up overseas shipping rates when requested so if you try to order and at checkout it will not allow shipping to the country you need please contact me, let me know what it is you are trying to order and I will quickly flick a magic switch to set the correct price and allow the overseas postage to go through.

Postage Refund

I have attempted to set up my postal costs so they calculate an accurate total price even if you order more than one piece. If I find it has overcharged you then I will refund you any postal overcharge.
