Today we got to catch up with Joy and to talk all things glass!

Tell us a little bit about you Joy?

I live in rural Staffordshire with my husband Bob and have been a glass artist now for more than 10 years working from home in my garage studio.

Can you tell us what you make?

I make a wide selection of stained glass suncatchers. Copper foiled Tiffany style. All sorts of designs, colours, sizes. I try to ensure I have something to suit everyone and every taste.

Do you diversify sometimes?

I also make a range of smaller fused glass items. All one-offs as my glass firing kiln is small and not suited to any sort of  ‘mass production’.  My range includes fused dishes, pictures and jewellery.

Have you always been creative?

Yes!  In 1968 a woman in a shop in Bury was shocked when I bought curtain lace to make a dress. Wore it as a shirt later!

What do you do for leisure time?

I like to swim and am an active member of the local WI. I also like to travel, my most recent adventures having been to South Africa!

Cake or wine?

Cake!

Thank you for taking the time to catch up with us Joy!  Joy’s shop can be found here!
