Brrrrr!!

Here in the UK we are having a slight freeze at the moment – following on from what seemed like weeks and weeks of rain (with awful floods suffered in many areas) the outside temperature has taken a nosedive and I am now working through my collection of warm jumpers while keeping busy in my sewing room!

I like to keep a log of what I do each day – preparation needs to be done carefully and precisely before I can even begin sewing – and each finished item will have taken several hours, if not days, to produce.

So far this month I have finished four products – three colourful quilted tote bags and this rather wonderful Lavender Crossbody bag, all of which are now available in my British Craft House shop. I love the lavender printed fabric that I’ve chosen for the exterior of this bag – such a warm colour and bringing hope of a warm Spring! This bag also features rainbow iridescent metal “hardware” and I only have one available, so please be quick if you think it would be a perfect gift for Valentines or Mothers Day!

Other things that have kept me busy so far this month include setting up my own You Tube channel. I’m gradually adding short video clips to this which show me during part of the bag making process. Hopefully you will find them enjoyable and do please let me know if there are any bag making “mysteries” that you would like to see featured! You’ll find me on YouTube by searching for Four Seasons By Michele.

There’s still plenty of January left, so I’m planning to make some fabric covered sewing boxes with their own integral pincushion and elasticated pocket. I also have some patchwork panels that I’m going to quilt and then make into tote bags – I might be tempted to keep the William Morris fabric one for myself, unless you sweep in quickly and snaffle it up! If there’s time I will make a start on a lovely applique table runner and I will also be taking part in a course on Zoom that’s all about different types of sewing thread and their uses. Never stop learning, that’s my motto!

Have a great month and as always, please get in touch if you have any questions about my products or would like to commission something special. You’ll find me on The British Craft House in my shop there, fourseasonsbymichele.

Until next time,

Michele x
