Getting to know Di at Adien Crafts – Di makes beautiful nature inspired gifts

When did you start crafting & what do you make?

I have ‘crafted’ in some form or another for as long as I can remember, entering the craft sections of the local Country Show was a highlight of my childhood! I’ve enjoyed many
varied crafts and in 2010 during a long period of illness it also became very therapeutic and I had made so many pieces I decided to start selling and it went from there really!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by many things, I love flowers and nature and many of my items will be pretty florals.

Is this your full time occupation or do you have a “day” job too!

My alarm wakes me much earlier than it did many years ago to go to the office and clocking off time is much later, but I wouldn’t change being a full time Crafter for the world now.

Have you diversified since you started out?

Yes, I think a lot of Crafters grow along the way and find the perfect craft for them through trial and error. I started out selling cards and fabric gifts, both of which I stilllove to do but once Crafting became a full time occupation I decided to concentrate mainly on jewellery and decoupage gifts. My shop does often become a bit of an Emporium as I get distracted along the way and make something completely different.

We love this Elephant Coaster!

Favourite cake!

This a such a hard question, like picking a favourite child! Well Lemon Drizzle has to be pretty high up there followed by a lovely carrot cake. Of course my Mum’s Christmas
cake family recipe takes some beating.

Diane makes her amazing creations in the heart of the West Country between Bristol and Bath. She currently has a great range of Christmas items!  Go & have a peek!

Thanks Di!  We have loved getting to know you a little better!
