I’m Kirsty and I am a designer and maker of individually crafted contemporary sterling silver jewellery.
Inspired by nature, I find myself drawn to the natural organic beauty of the things I see and collect around me. I was so lucky to grow up by the beach and now live in the equally beautiful South Downs. My favourite thing to do is to lose myself on long walks on the beach collecting seaglass, crustaceans, and seaweed or foraging the countryside for seeds and taking photos of inspiring forms.
I love the idea that precious simple things that we find can be used to encapsulate a memory. A piece of seaglass made into a ring, or an acorn cast to make a necklace can be cherished forever.
In the studio, these inspirations are developed further through my drawings and ideas collected in my sketchbooks.
Then experimenting with Sterling silver by forming, forging and cuttlefish casting. I create organic shapes that I develop into beautiful jewellery in the form of rings, pendants, bracelets, and earrings.
Each piece I make has its own story. Where it began its life and how it paved its way to being a beautiful and wearable piece of jewellery.
My hallmark KLR is registered at The London Assay Office.
