Vendor Biography
I am a mental health nurse and part time leather worker. My passion for leather started as a horse mad child and developed fully in October 2021 when my eldest son bought me a leather craft course voucher. I wanted to learn to make my horse a bridle as I couldn’t find one to fit her. I have developed my skills over the last 2 years.
I offer lovingly handcrafted pieces made using traditional techniques. Each item is created to last for years to come and will age and develop a patina over time to show it’s journey through life.
Every item I make is hand cut, hand stitched using traditional saddle stitch, and hand burnished using beeswax to seal the edges.
I use mainly oak bark and vegetable tanned leathers to minimise the environmental impact, and I am changing over to traditional linen thread to help reduce plastic waste. All my packaging is upcycled, recycled or sustainably sourced.
All the fittings I use are made to last and are either solid brass or stainless steel, with traditional saddlers copper rivets, all sourced in the UK.
I offer some limited edition pieces where a piece of leather looks interesting to work with, or the colour is amazing, or a design is unusual. These offer something a bit different!
My core range consists of classic designs, some with a twist, made from the finest English leathers.
I also offer a bespoke service so please get in touch if you would like something made especially for you!
Each handbag comes with a matching key fob & cotton dust bag.
