Hi I’m Karen, a primary school teacher and a decoupage artist based in Southampton.
Decoupage originated in France in the 17th century as a means of artistically decorating pieces of furniture with pictures. If it looks as though the item has been hand painted then the artist has achieved a good finish!
My designs are mostly inspired by nature and my favourite technique is creating a unique collage design with different elements collected together.
I decoupage glassware, slate, ceramic, clay and wood to create beautiful gifts, items for the home and wedding accessories.
