My name is Carolyn, I live in Southampton with my husband, our two sons and Doris and Betty the sausage dogs and I’m a Jewellery Designer/ Silversmith and owner of ‘Silverbird Designs’.
My background has always been an artistic one. I have a Graphic Design and Illustration degree and worked for over 15 years in the design industry – I loved my job, but decided to find a career that would better fit our family’s life, yet still give me a creative outlet.
I began making jewellery as gifts for friends and family after taking acourse at my local college in 2009. From there things grew and Isuccessfully opened my first online store in June 2013 and haven’t looked back since.
Most days you will find me busying away in the workshop makingbeautiful, handcrafted silver jewellery. All my pieces are lovinglycreated using traditional silversmith techniques and a variety ofprecious metals, gemstones and my own handmade fused-glass.
