Shadow Bright

Vendor Biography

Shadowbright started in 2014 when I had been making lampshades for a while and I really wanted to start selling them. I started making lampshades as my granddad used to make beautiful hand turned wooden lamp bases and I am lucky enough to have a few of them in my house. I wanted lampshades that were different and that would compliment the bases. I couldn’t find anything I liked so I started making them.

After making and selling lampshades for two years and getting many requests for matching products from customers, I realized that I wanted to offer additional, complimentary products such as a range of soft furnishings.

I love soft furnishings and when I got my own home in 2007 I loved going shopping for cushions and curtains. However it was often the case that I could never find curtains I liked and would spend whole afternoons looking for interesting patterns until I finally realized I just needed to make them for myself.

Thus in order to refresh my needlework skills I started going to college and it was during the dressmaking course I completed that I rediscovered my love for sewing. I was making dresses, Christmas stockings, cushions and loads of stuff for the kids, which resulted in a creative re-awakening.

Nowadays, I relish the opportunity to create lampshades and other soft furnishings that compliment people’s décor and that are interesting and eye catching. I love out of the ordinary patterns and often spend long periods sourcing fascinating fabrics.

Since launching in 2014 my lampshades have been featured in the national sewing magazines Simply Sewing and Homes and Garden. I stock a wide variety of styles of lampshades and cushions to meet all your home décor needs. If you would like something that is not listed then please get in touch.
