My name is Jill, and I am the business owner, designer and creator of all the quilled greetings cards you see here in my British Craft House shop. I am a self-employed paper crafter and live in Surrey with my husband and currently two of my three grown up children.
I have always enjoyed crafting, trying my hand at various different crafts over the years – glass painting, silk painting, jewellery making, cross stitch – the list goes on. But about 30 years ago I stumbled across a stall at a craft fair where quilled cards were being sold and from that moment I was hooked.
In a previous life, I worked in education, originally as a KS1 teacher, then as a SENCO (in charge of provision for special needs children) in a large primary school) and finally, visiting schools as an advisory teacher for special needs in order to improve their access to education in mainstream classrooms.
I retired from education about 6 years ago and was then able to properly indulge my passion for quilling and at the same time provide an extra income to top up my pension.
The beauty of my cards is that they can be personalised for you, creating beautiful keepsake cards to mark any special occasion.
Each card takes between 1-2 hours to craft – I create all the quilled elements myself and it is not a quick process, but I love the finished effect. As I only sell online, one thing is sure, you will not find anything like this in high street stores.
