Hello, I’m Dee. Welcome to my wonderful world of wire!
Here you can find beautiful and unusual jewellery and decorations, all made from wire using just my hands and a few simple tools. I’ve always loved making things and have enjoyed many different crafts over the years…origami, crochet, cross-stitch and beading to name but a few. Then I discovered wire weaving, and was instantly hooked! There are so many amazing things that can be created from such a simple material and I’m always discovering new ways to use it.
All of my items have been designed and created by me, in my Manchester workshop (a.k.a. dining room table!), where I live with my partner Andrew and our cat Ruki. Along with the much missed Ori, our little kitties inspired the name of my business. When I’m not creating or at my day job, you can usually find me gardening or hiking, or wishing for the right weather for gardening or hiking – it is Manchester after all!
Most of my items are made from copper, but you’ll find a few smaller pieces in sterling silver. I also use a range of glass beads – most of the designs with beads can be remade in different colours (I have so many!), so if you would like a different colour then please get in touch. I use glass cabochons for my pendants, which have been handmade in the UK. I’m very fond of dichroic glass and the fantastic sparkles and colour changing properties – it’s like magic to me!
