My name is Julie Farren and I have been trading as Nostalgic for the past five years. In the summer of 2018 I went to Country File live which was happening in the grounds of Blenheim Palace. While I was wandering around I came across a stall selling Alpaca wool. In the corner, the stall holder had a fantastic vintage circular sock machine and he very kindly gave me a demonstration.
Later that year I decided that I would like to try and buy a sock machine. I was lucky enough to find one for sale on Ebay. We bought a beautiful Imperia machine which was made in the 1920s.
I took me a long time to perfect making a pair of socks. I now spend most of my days sitting in my craft room happily making hand made socks and handmade hot water bottle covers.
My socks are made to order and I use special sock yarn which is made up of 75% wool and 25% polyamide, which means they are are hard wearing and machine washable.
I also make hot water bottle covers.
If you are allergic to wool or prefer not to wear wool I can make socks using bamboo mix socks.
