Vendor Biography

Hi, my name is Jane, and I have been sewing as long as I can remember.  I had a very talented grandmother who helped me make clothes, and I got my first sewing machine when I was eight.  Since then I’ve upgraded the machine slightly and I started making quilts about twenty years ago.  I love the endless possibilities that happen when I take fabric and an idea, and put them together.  I am happy to customise quilts to suit colours, sizes or occasions.

Helped by my far more graphically inclined husband, I have also started to put together quilt patterns, and the Cairo Tile design is a unique and ancient pattern for tessellating pentagons.  I think this makes a really striking and individual quilt.  I hope to continue to write patterns so others can take them and make beautiful quilts.

I also make quilted gadget bags, Christmas stockings, children’s dresses, and occasionally bags – anything that can be made from fabric.
