Vendor Biography

l graduated from Leicester De Montfort a long time ago with a degree in 3D design. A year before I graduated I set up a stall on Leicester market together with my partner Phil selling handmade jewellery at a time when most jewellery came from H Samuels or Woolworths. It was great fun ……………….and we earned a living! We still get out and love doing markets and craft shows!

Typical of my  work is the obvious enjoyment found in exploring surface textures, patterns and finishes, hammering, punching, molding, reticulating and patinating to achieve a lively organic feel, which mass produced work lacks.

‘’ My work is my love my life and my livelihood and because my studio is my home it is possible to work on an idea whenever the muse strikes!’’

Sustainability is of utmost importance, wherever possible I re cycle, re use and re purpose materials.

We should look more carefully at our consumption of cheap imported goods, and examine what is available locally.

My motto:

‘’Love what’s Local!’’

I work full time with my husband Phil Ashcroft, Archives Crafts is our livelihood.
