Tudor Valentine – The design incorporates Elizabethan inspired fill patterns using different sized hearts and tiny crosses in a repeating lattice style design – a perfect design to use to add authentic detailing to cuffs and collars (costume/ LARP/ cosplay).

This blackwork embroidery design is based upon traditional historical 16th Century Elizabethan blackwork concepts.
NOTE: This is a listing for the embroidery pattern/ kit only, not a garment/ costume pattern.
This design could easily also be stitched in colour choices to suit your own taste or occasion.
The kit comes with full instructions, materials (listed below) and a free ‘Beginner Instruction Stitching Guide’ – taking you through the stitching basics (using backstitch or Holbein – double running stitch) to help you recreate this pattern.
Design size:
Stitches – 133 wide x 34 high
(the design is repeatable so width can be reduced or increased to suit final use requirements).
Size shown stitched on 28 count Linen 24.1cm (9.5″) x 6.2cm (2.5″)
(28 Count Evenweave or 14 Count Aida fabric could be used also).
**Allow Extra fabric for tensioning in hoop/ frame whilst stitching, and for mounting the finished item, or for adding to a collar or cuffs).
Boxed Kit – materials included:
- Black Silk embroidery thread (ANC 403 or DMC 310 Black Stranded Cotton Thread could also be used)
- 28 count Linen
- Tapestry needle size 24 held on a Lavender sachet
- Stitch chart with key/ Yarn usage
- ‘Beginner Instruction Stitching Guide’ by Midge Porter Design
- 5″ Embroidery Hoop, lavender sachet and card.
