Handwoven to order in Falklands merino that won’t irritate the skin.
Whilst you can choose from the colours here, having your own design and colours cost no extra, so select bespoke, and I will email you to discuss.
A cork or leather plaque can also be applied to the blanket for no extra charge, as shown in the photograph, but the details you have on it, are entirely yours to choose. If you select yes in the options, again, I will email you to discuss.
I air wool creations frequently, washing on a specialist setting infrequently. Wool has some amazing properties, to read more, go to www.campaignforwool.org
The Falklands Merino wool I use is supplied by Wooltop which is spun in Devon. I also use wool from UK alpaca.
All the wool from the Falkland Islands is sent by ship at the end of the season to be processed in the UK.
The yarn I use is washed first, but I don’t use conditioner as it doesn’t need it, it’s perfect next to the skin.
Quality fabrics don’t need frequent washing, but when it does need a wash, use a wool setting and half spin on a machine.
I use dyes which are non-toxic so they are safe for baby.
Your fibre options
Medium weight (DK) Falkland Islands or UK Alpaca. The most popular weight of wool ordered.
Lightweight (4-ply) Falkland Islands or UK Alpaca, available with or without silk blended-in.
4-ply takes a longer time to weave. When woven, it gives a smaller design and finer detail of a pattern.
Postage
UK, Eire and Crown Dependency postage is included in the price, I subsidise overseas postage and charge 10% of the order total.
Each one is gift-wrapped in tissue paper, a care care and a sprig of dried lavender (excludes Australia and New Zealand due to customs rules). A complimentary gift note can also be included, so it can be sent directly
The process
The baby blanket takes around 3 to 4 hours to weave. A fringe on the baby blanket takes around an hour to sew off, it gives a very pleasing traditional finish.
As you can see in the photographs, each one is packaged in a beautiful white keepsake box which is included in the price. It’s a gift that is made to last and delight.

When you order, I will contact you within 48 hours to confirm I have received it.
For overseas, there is a blanket 10% charge of the order total, which I use towards sending your item using Royal Mail International Standard. I subsidise a portion of the cost.
I am happy to use an alternative carrier if you wish, for an additional at-cost payment if applicable.
I have sent my work all over the world and continue to be more than happy to do so.
