Add to Wishlist

A Scottish Mountain suncatcher. Rolling mountains and heather covered fields rolling down to a twinkling water.
Pictured at the end of the day in Scotland when the mountains take on folds of different shades and the sky still has a few wisps of blue.  Wish I was there.

This is 5 x 7.5 inches.   Stained Glass hand-crafted using the Tiffany Copper-foil technique.  It really does look lovely hanging in the window catching the light.

Made with and by Joy to be given with love.

A very special design, a stained glass panel entirely handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

A ‘picture’ of a Scottish mountain scene, late on in the day, so the impression is of different folds and colours of hills and mountains falling to the sea.

I’ve tried to pick out the Scottish highland heather colouring with purple and green streaked glass and I’ve used clear, iridescent glass for the sea and added some streaks of blue to the sky as this is a sunny day in Scotland.

I can’t paint with paints and a brush but I can put different textures and colours of glass together to form a picture.

There is a good variety of different textures to give the panel lots of movement.

Each piece of glass is individually cut, shaped then carefully wrapped in copper foil before all the pieces are soldered together to create the suncatcher. Once the pieces are all soldered together I add a ‘frame’ of twisted wire. This gives the suncatcher neatness and also strength.  I then add little wire rings for hanging.

The suncatcher hangs from a strong silver chain which is securely attached to the wire rings at the top. I always supply a strong suction hook so it comes ready for you to hang.   I would recommend that this, to be safe, would be better hanging from a proper hook rather than suction hooks as it is quite heavy.

This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different shades and textures of glass.

I make several other landscape suncatchers which you can see here.
Please contact me if you would prefer one of the others and can’t find it for sale here in my shop.

Please note that no two of my suncatchers  are ever the same even to the same design. I deliberately don’t keep a record of the types of glass used so it is pretty impossible for me to make an exact match and that is my intention. I like all my pieces to be unique and I always use different combinations of glass.

Posted out Royal Mail first class and signed for, with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you.
