Rainbow Patchwork Dichroic Glass Square Dish Fused
A gorgeously colourful and supershiny 12cm square dish which I’ve fused in my little kiln.
The base is a 12cm clear Bullseye glass square topped with 16 x 3cm squares of glass in all the colours of the rainbow to make a patchwork.
I’ve then generously decorated the top with red and gold dichroic glass to make it extra special. Dichroic glass is the creme de la creme of glass and I just love to use it as it creates such a wonderful effect.
I have a fusing kiln. I have lots of glass and an addiction to making beautiful glass pieces.
I hope you like what I have made. You can use it as a trinket dish or just as an ornament to decorate your home.
Made with and by Joy to be given with love.
The dish is all ready to post.

A 12cm shallow square glass dish, fused in my glass fusing kiln.
My kiln is only small so I make only one-off pieces, no mass production is possible.
Each piece of fused glass I make is unique and very special.
The 12 cm square dish is made from 1 layer of clear glass then topped with 16 small rainbow squares to make a patchwork. I’ve then made it very special by decorating with dichroic glass. It is beautifully bright and cheerful.
Dichroic (pronounced “dye-crow-ick”) glass, literally means “two colored.” It is derived from the Greek words “di” for two, and “chroma” for color. It was thus named because of its fantastic multicolour reflective properties. It appears to have more than one color at the same time, especially when viewed with different lighting.
It is all then twice times fired in my kiln, first to full fuse all the glass together, second to slump it over a little mould into a shallow dish shape.
A lovely dish for your trinkets, your earrings or just to enjoy as an ornament.
I find my fused glass pieces very tactile and this dish is lovely to just hold and I rather like to think it might be picked up just to admire the pattern and the colours.
Posted out Royal Mail first class with lots of padding to keep it safe on its journey to you.
