Maple Leaf Fused Glass Dish

A 15 cm square fused glass dish with a maple leaf design created by screen printing the leaf pattern onto the surface of the blue glass base. The piece was then heated in a kiln to a very high temperature so that the glass comes out completely smooth on the surface and the screen printed pattern is embedded into the glass. The edges of the dish are a slight silver grey due to the properties of the steel blue base glass which can turn a silvery grey in the extreme heat of the kiln.
The flat fused piece was then slumped in a mould to created this 15 cm square dish which gently slopes upwards at each corner.
Your dish will be wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap and then posted in a strong box.
