Handmade framed Jane Austen stamps issued by Royal Mail in 1975 to commemorate the work of one of Britain’s most celebrated authors, celebrating the bicentenary of her birth.

The four stamps depict beautiful etchings showing Emma and Mr Woodhouse from “Emma”, Catherine Moreland from “Northanger Abbey”, Mr Darcy from “Pride and Prejudice” and Mary and Henry Crawford from “Mansfield Park”.  The stamps are in mint condition and it is hard to believe these are over 45 years old!

The stamps are mounted on white card and appear to “hover” above the card behind to emphasise the detail.

The white frame has a glass front, is 23.5cm x 18cm and 3cm deep, has a white mount and can be standing or wall hanging.
