Handmade felt Easter egg craft kit

£15.00

In this craft kit you get to make your own handmade felt and turn it into a lovely Easter egg hanging decoration. It is a lovely, creative project for children to do in the build-up to Easter. The project starts with learning how to make felt using the wet-felting technique. You will be using a gorgeous range of coloured merino wool fibres. This process is such fun and so accessible to all ages and with my photographic guide to help you, you just can’t go wrong!

You will learn star stitch to attach the sequins, backstitch to attach the ribbon and there is a choice between blanket stitch or overhand stitch to sew the egg together.

Alongside the fibres, the craft kit includes co-ordinating regular felt (for the back), ribbon, flower sequins, embroidery thread and stuffing to pad out the egg. All small equipment, templates and very detailed instructions are also provided to guide you every step of the way.

This kit is available in three different colourways – Sunny Shades, Pastel Shades and Bright Shades. The felt used is a wool/viscose mix and the fibres are merino wool.

This fabulous little project is recommended for ages 7+ but adults will want to join in too!  Please note, parental supervision may be needed for cutting.

This is not a finished product, it is a craft kit with all the materials/instructions required to complete this project. Once made, the finished egg measures approx 12cm wide x 16cm long.

A little bit of background to this kit……Oh Sew Creative runs children’s holiday workshops and we often use wet-felting as a technique to make the fabric that is going to be used for the end product. Children love this technique, it is such good fun and I have never seen a child fail at this! Combine this with a scattering of flowery sequins and the kit won’t disappoint! Children do love a bit of bling – they are like magpies drawn to pretty, sparkly sequins!
