This is a high quality giclee print of my original embroidery titled Low tide at Broad haven. The whole image size of the original has been made from filling the space with lots of tiny filling stitches such as satin stich. I used a few french knots to resemble the texture of the rock. This print has really picked up the detail of the stitches.
It comes already mounted, ready for you to put in a frame of your choice. Image size is 15 x 15 cm which is approximately the same size as the original. The total size including the mount is 25 x 25 cm. The original embroidery is inspired by the low tide at Broad haven beach in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales. The tide has revealed a rock pool and the view is as if you were sitting on the beach looking out to sea. This would make a prefect gift for anyone who loves the beach and sea views.

I have worked directly from a photograph and included the details of the land in the far distance, and the sky reflecting in the rock pool. This technique is described as painting with thread or stitches. I think it describes the way I work perfectly to help gain the effect I quite often use dip dyed thread to help with blending of colours and to show shading to create a shadow effect.
