A joy to make, this dish start by blending areas of white, light aqua and Egyptian blue powders in a layer and then backing with a complete layer of the richer blue. This powder is manipulated to create the “crackle” and is then capped with a 30cm circular piece of clear glass. It is fired in a glass kiln at a specific temperature to encourage the texture to open up and create the pattern. Once cooled the piece is cold worked on a grinder to soften the organic edge and sandblasted to smooth the surface. It is fired a second time in a ceramic mould to gently slump it in to the ball bowl shape
