Dangly Earrings – Dark Amber-Brown sea-glass & Copper/Rose Gold

£35.00

A unique, one of a kind, pair of handmade dangly earrings featuring dark amber sea glass beans wrapped in copper wire and hung from rose gold-filled earring wires.  Both of these pieces were found at different times on the beach at Barton-on Sea in Hampshire.

These gorgeously old and super-smooth, rich-toned dark amber coloured sea glass beans make a super ‘pair’ of earrings. As with all sea glass found in the ‘wild’ no two pieces are the same, and this ‘pair’ of similar sized and shaped pieces is no exception – but they work wonderfully together.

Each piece has been drilled and wrapped with copper wire around the top to complement the warm tones of the glass  (they just didn’t look right in silver!) and that makes this piece of jewellery quite unique and unusual!  The rings and earring hooks are filled rose gold to provide a quality metal in the ear (for people with sensitive skin like me!).  Each piece of sea glass has the ‘c’ marking that denotes a properly old and weathered piece, and as with all ‘wild’ sea glass, each piece is slightly different, but these two go together to make a ‘matching’ pair.

Details

  • Earrings measure approx. 3.5cm from the top of the hook to the bottom of the sea glass.
  • Each ‘bean’ measures 1.6-1.8cm (approx.)
  • Wire is copper
  • jump ring and hook filled rose/red gold

A truly one of a kind, unique pair of sea glass earrings.

These ‘beans’ with the characteristic signs of properly ‘old’ glass were both found on the beach at Barton-on-Sea in Hampshire, by me, on different occasions.  Barton is one of my regular ‘haunts’ and whilst it’s not known for its sea glass, and finds of good quality glass there are relatively unusual – I often find other things there too, like fossil shells and sharks teeth.  And even when I don’t find a thing, I love looking, and on a clear day, looking out across the sea to the famous Needles of the Isle of Wight.

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.

I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
