Silver botanical Sweet Cicily wild herb imprint pendant necklace

This small and simple solid fine silver pendant has a gentle imprint of a leaf and flower from the Sweet Cicily plant.  Sweet Cicily is a wild hedgerow plant, it’s also cultivated as a herb for culinary use, like the one I used here.  This particular flower and leaf were taken from the plant growing in our herb garden in Hampshire.  The imprint has been lightly aged and the back of the pendant gently hammered to add some extra detail and sparkle. 

The pendant is hung from a sterling silver chain.

The end result is a one a kind necklace, hugged by nature, hand crafted with love and ready to wear with pretty much anything!

Silver pendant measures 1.6cm in diameter x 1mm depth.

Total length of sterling silver chain including clasp measures 45cm/18 inches.

All of the imprint jewellery that I make, including this pendant, are similar in design, yet totally unique because no two plants, leaves or imprints are ever the same, and they all begin life as precious metal silver clay, which is rolled out, imprinted and cut – sometimes I use a cutter to create more uniform circles, other times I go free-form.  (This was cut using a small lid from an essential oil spray!).  Once dried, a hole is carefully drilled and each piece is sanded smooth in the right places, by hand.  The piece is then ready for firing for which I use a blow torch.  The process of firing burns away the organic compounds in the clay, leaving behind a solid piece of fine silver (fine silver is 99.9% pure silver).

All my botanical designs, including these earrings, are made in very small batches, often to order, so there is minimal impact on the plant or other wild users of the plant! Which also means, of course, that the finished piece is truly one of a kind – just like each individual leaf in nature!

Items will be processed and despatched within 3 working days and shipped by Royal Mail Tracked 24 as standard. Shipping is included in the price of all purchases unless stated or agreed otherwise, e.g. if you request to upgrade to special delivery.

I aim to minimise the amount of packaging I use when sending items to reduce waste, whilst also seeking to present the everyday treasures beautifully, and to treat the jewellery as the delicate and beautiful treasure it is, ensuring its safe passage through the British postal system!
All materials used for gift wrapping and packing are made from recycled and/or recyclable materials, which are sustainably sourced and British made where possible!

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.

I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
