These unusual earrings are small, dainty and dangly and feature a tiny piece of fine silver wire wrapped green sea glass and a small solid fine silver fossil shark tooth hung from a sterling silver hook.

The tiny fossil shark tooth used to make these earrings was found at Barton-on-Sea in Hampshire – it’s one of many I have collected over the years (starting with visits many years ago with my palaeontology mad 4 year old!) and it’s from the Eocene period, around 36 to 54 million years old!!.  I created a mould from the tooth to use with silver clay, which once fired leaves a solid fine silver replica of the original tooth, which is from the Eocene .  Please note that each tooth was created by hand so whilst the same mould is used, there is some slight variation in the finished product.

These tiny pieces of green sea glass were also found in the shingle on the beach at Barton.

Details:

  • Each shark tooth measures approx. 1 x 0.8cm and is made from solid fine silver.
  • Sea glass measures approx. 0.5cm round
  • Earring drop from top of hook to point of shark’s tooth approx. 3cm
  • Wire is fine silver
  • hook and rings are solid sterling silver

Returns and Refunds

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.

I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
