Christian Sculptured Pool: Footprints in the Sand, to celebrate a Christening, Baptism, First Communion, Wedding, Confirmation, Ordination Gift.

A Christian hand built stoneware sculptured bowl.

This bowl is wonderful to help with contemplation and prayer and makes a wonderful gift for a Christening, Baptism, First Communion or Confirmation, Ordination or to keep Wedding Rings in.

There are two base design options-

1. God Bless
2. God Bless with footprint, a copy of the poem is included.

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

Approximately: Height 5.5 cm Width 11.5 cm

It looks beautiful as a stand alone piece or light a tealight on it at night and the pooled glass reflects the candlelight perfectly.

I hand built this bowl, textured it and then added the detail before bisque firing. I then washed it with an oxide and painted in the detail. Two glazes were applied to give the bowl extra depth. I then fired it a second time to 1220C with recycled glass in the base which melts and pools.

I sign my pieces with the initials REJM on the base. My parents gave me a long name and then called me by my last!

My pieces are all handmade and every bowl is slightly different. You would receive a bowl very similar to the ones in the photos.

It will arrive gift boxed.

This is not food safe. It can be washed gently using a soft cloth and mild detergent.

INSPIRATION

Clay is a beautiful material and so I wanted to make something beautiful using it.
The walls of the bowl represent the Holy Land, the glass Holy water or ‘Water of Life’ and when a small candle burns in it it can represent the ‘Light of the World.’
I love the way that the combination of earth, air, water and fire make a pot permanent.

I try and ship all items within three working days of receiving payment. If I can't do this for any reason I will announce it on my shop front or email you directly.

I use a reliable courier and Royal Mail.

I would hate my ceramics to get broken in transit so I make sure that all my parcels are very well packaged.  I use a combination or recycled materials and reused packaging.  Your items will come gift wrapped.

If you could quote a 'safe place' on your order for the courier to leave the parcel that would be great. 

Any customs charges will be your responsibility.

Please contact me before sending any returns.

Any personalised items are not refundable.

The buyer is responsible for return postage costs and any loss in value of the item, if an item isn't returned in original condition.
