What is sea glass..?
Sea glass is created from waste glass being thrown into the ocean where it’s relentlessly tumbled in the sand by the motion of the waves until it becomes beautifully smoothed and frosted. Larger pieces are used for jewellery but I mostly pick up misshaped shards to use in my varied artworks. Sea glass has a history all of its own. There’s no telling how long the glass used in this picture has been in the sea or where it came from originally and I think this adds an extra special element of mystique to each piece I create.
