My makers mark is held at the London Assay Office.

Any piece made to be sold in silver that weighs over 7.78g or over 1g in gold

is legally required to be hallmarked.

A hallmark is:

  • A set of marks applied to articles made of precious metals gold, silver, platinum or palladium.
  • Means that the article has been independently tested.
  • Guarantees that it conforms to all legal standards of purity (fineness).
  • Guarantees provenance by telling you where the piece was hallmarked, what the article is made from and who sent the article for hallmarking.

More hallmarking information can be found here – London Assay Office.
