Well, here we are already more than a week into February and some of us are eagerly anticipating Valentines Day. Hopefully there will be a nice card and possibly a pressie too? Or do you no longer “do that sort of thing”?

I can remember the teenage angst during this week of the year and the delight or shame when the postman arrived (or more likely, failed to arrive) with a mystery card. Nowadays of course I consider myself far too old and sensible to get excited about these things, but it’s still rather special to receive a thoughtfully written card and a little gift from my Other Half. It’s a reminder to be grateful for all that I have, especially as life hasn’t always been this wonderful.

Now I probably wouldn’t be very impressed if my Valentine gift this year was one of my own handmade items (“oh, er, thanks….”) but I’d love it if perhaps a trinket box, or a bag were to wing its way to a lovely new owner in time for Valentines Day. Time is getting short of course, but provided that you are in the UK and you place your order by Monday the 12th, all of the items in my British Craft House shop are ready to send and will be on their way to you within 24 hours, for delivery on the 13th or 14th. I can even send your choice of gift direct to the lucky recipient, together with a handmade quilted postcard bearing your gift message (and you can be as slushy as you like!).

This brings me nicely to a freshly made bag, my Red and Pink Layered Patchwork Bag, which you can see in this Blog. This lovely bag is entirely handmade and features a wonderful layered quilted patchwork effect which I have created using the traditional “Cathedral Windows” patchwork technique. Inside the bag you will find a red and white pattered lining and a useful zipped pocket.

I have many other unique bags available in my shop, so pleased do pop by and have a browse through them, as well as the many fabric covered trinket boxes, cushions, table runners, wall hangings and accessories. You will be sure to find the perfect gift for anyone on your list, or why not treat yourself?
