Large hand embroidered framed wall art of a rockpool, shells and pebbles. I have used lots of tiny french knot stitches and woven wheel stitch to create the texture of the rock and all the pebbles and shells that surround it. This piece is inspired by the beach at Broad haven in Pembrokeshire.
This coastal inspired framed embroidery measures a total size including the frame is 54 x 44 cm. The image size is 28 x 40 cm and the depth of the frame is 5 cm.
I have used a double mount to display the art work as it leads the eye to the artwork, creating a sense of depth. The frame has been assembled at my home and treated with a lime wax which has bought out the grain in the ash wood we used to make the frame. The quality is of a very high standard, elevating the quality of the artwork, creating a statement piece for your wall decor.

To explain the process I use in a bit more detail, I firstly sewed together some pieces of fabric, including some organza. This has a lovely sheen to it which glistens in the light. I then embroidered the texture on top and appliqued the rock using a piece of felt which I then embroidered over the top. I used some stitches that describe the shape of limpet shells.
The size of the embroidery means that it took a long time to complete, I estimate that it took me 80+ hours!
If you would like to purchase this artwork then I will package it very carefully with lots of protection as there is glass on front of the frame. I will use Royal mail 1st class tracked delivery service.
