Supersize Dichroic Fused 3layer Glass Patchwork Pendant Silver Chain Colour Choice

£20.00

The supersize all dichroic glass patchwork cabochons for these extra special pendants are handmade, by me, with love.
I’ve designed these specially to be ‘big, in your face, dramatic’.

Fused in my glass kiln to very high temperatures, 1500 degrees F and annealed for strength.

These cabochons are formed from 3 layers of carefully hand-cut fusing glass Coe 90. The bottom layer  is coloured bullseye glass. The middle,  a lovely random patchwork arrangement of precious dichroic glass using lots of different types to give a super variety of texture and colour. Then on top, a layer of clear glass so seal the patchwork smoothly together into a super  shiny pendant.

When they come out of the kiln I am like a child in a sweetie shop, they look so delicious.

The back of the cabachon is attached to a silver plated bail using E6000 strongest adhesive and the pendant comes complete with a pretty matching 18″ silver plated chain to match so is all ready to gift / wear.

I post these out in a rather lovely little white 7.5 x 5.5 cm gift box.  You can see this in the second photo.
The pendants are all approximately 4 x 6 cm including the silver bail.

Made with and by Joy to be given with love.

The pendants are all ready to post with postage charged as Royal Mail 1st class large letter.

Please see Details below for more information.

Festive Postage

Please note that my shop will remain open 24/7 throughout the Festive season. Christmas and New Year.
I Always post same / next day as long as the post office is open and I post Royal Mail Tracked 24 small package or 1st Class for large letter packages.
So as long as the postal service is operating I will do my utmost to get your order to you and postie will too I am sure. Joy xx.

My glass fusing kiln is only small so all my fused glass pieces are very special one-off designs, no mass production possible.
My pendants are all absolutely uniquie. I can guarantee you will never meet someone wearing the same as you.

I’m always delighted with my dichroic pendants when they come out of the kiln. These supersize ones are especially dramatic. They each include a couple of pieces of clear backed dichroic glass so the colour of the glass behind shines through.

The dichroic layer rather magically reflects or refracts different colours as they catch the light (the word dichroic comes from Greek and means 2 coloured).  I’ve tried to show the different effects of the light in the photos but generally the pendants are more colourful and  dramatic in real life than in the photos. Dichroic glass can be so sparkly that the camera sometimes says No !

I do my best to persuade the camera to show the true colours of the various types of dichroic glass but cannot guarantee that the photos do the vivid colours justice. They tend to be more vibrant in real life.

Entirely handmade cut, shaped, layered and decorated with a unique dichroic glass design on each.

I make no promise of perfect symmetry, they are handcut glass using several different types of glass and glass has a mind of its own and once fusing in the kiln that does its own thing too.

Gorgeously and luxuriously sparkly.
I wear a pendant like this all the time nowadays (all my other beads and necklaces are discared)  and I am so frequently complimented on them   Always so good to be able to put my fingers under it to show it around and say “I’m a glass artist, this is what I make”  😃

I do wear my pendants in the shower but never when swimming, just in case. I don’t want to have to dive to the bottom if the glue (E6000 the best I can buy) should be affected by chemicals in the water and come unstuck.

You can select the one/s you want by clicking the appropriate little picture but please note these really are unique, there is no chance I can replicate any one so please don’t order more than one of any of them.

Shipping Policy

My Shipping Policy

I will always do my very best to post out same or next day and I post Royal Mail first class large letter or Tracked 24 Small package. I can generally post every day except Sundays and bank holidays.
I post from my local post-office which is very reliable and it is very rare for my packages to go missing. They are very clearly labelled and also have my return address on the outside. I copy / paste the address you supply to make sure I don’t accidentally change it and the only change I do make is to auto change post codes to Upper Case where necessary.

My glass is always very securely packaged to try allow for posties playing football with them at the sorting office so they are well padded out inside and I use tape round the outside, where appropriate, to provide extra bouncability. I recycle packaging wherever possible.

I use some rather innovative (!) boxes for packing my smaller pieces of glass. Takeaway / microwave lidded boxes which are incredibly useful as they are air-tight so great for my storage of finished pieces and see-through so I can tell what is inside.
They also, with the addition of a small amount of bubblewrap, provide a very good protective cocoon for the glass in the post.
And an added advantage is that you can reuse the box once you have removed the glass !

Larger pieces which don't fit into my boxes are sent in see-through popper envelopes and are very well padded with bubble, cardboard and bouncy tape.

I always include a suction hook with each piece. These are as strong as I can find but it is a good idea to reseal to the glass every week or so by pressing firmly in the centre. Heavier pieces are safer hung from a permanently located hook. My glass pieces are as strong as I can make them and I do give consideration always to strength when putting them together but they are made of glass and prefer not to be dropped onto a hard floor.

Most of my packages do not go through the letter box as it is impossible to get them flat enough while protecting with enough padding. If your package has not arrived a couple of days after posting please check to see if it has been left in a secure place somewhere or check with your postie. The only packages I send by large letter post in PIP boxes to go through the letter box are pieces of jewellery and small fused pieces. I do not consider the depth of the boxes, maximum 2.5cm, adequate for the padding needed to post any other pieces of my glass safely.

I post lower priced individual items standard first class but more expensive items and orders for more than one piece may need to be sent signed for first class to allow cover from Royal Mail in the unlikely event of a problem. The system should charge you the correct postage to allow for that. If it charges you too little then my mistake, my loss. If too much then I will refund you the excess.

OVERSEAS ORDERS

Yes please. I love to send my glass to a new home and will happily post anywhere that someone wants it. I do however tend to only set up overseas shipping rates when requested so if you try to order and at checkout it will not allow shipping to the country you need please contact me, let me know what it is you are trying to order and I will quickly flick a magic switch to set the correct price and allow the overseas postage to go through.

Postage Refund

I have attempted to set up my postal costs so they calculate an accurate total price even if you order more than one piece. If I find it has overcharged you then I will refund you any postal overcharge.
