This bird like all my other birds is made using glass powders to get the colour as close as possible.
The bird itself is cut out of clear glass in one piece then the powders are used to get the colouring as close as possible, this is then fired in the kiln, sometimes fired twice.
The third fire is to attach a wing and eye.
So as you can tell a lot of work goes into making a bird.
