The Bann Disc, considered one of the most remarkable examples of metalwork from the Irish Iron Age, was serendipitously discovered by men dredging the river Bann in 1939. The original bronze disc, just 10.6 cm in diameter, showcases the classic triple spiral motif commonly found in Irish designs and other cultural artifacts such as the Book of Kells.
