Stoneware Ceramic Jug

£25.00

This handmade stoneware ceramic jug would be a unique addition to your functional homeware, or a stylish and decorative feature piece.

When making this piece, I drew inspiration from several historic sources – the shape of the body of the jug and handle was inspired by some forms of Central American pottery from around 800-1100AD; the glaze  colours from the alabaster ware of ancient Egypt. It’s unusual asymmetrically placed neck and twisted handle make it well-balanced in your hand.

It is made from strong, stoneware ceramic, hand-modelled and fired to a high temperature. The glaze has a satin off-white finish with fine speckles and red-brown oxide over the surface.

The jug measures 13cm tall and 10cm across it’s widest point. The liquid capacity is approximately 400ml.
