This small (13cm) glass bowl or trinket dish looks perfect on a side table or bedside cabinet and makes a perfect gift. The delicate dabbled grey comes from the blending and chemical reaction of French Vanilla and Dense White powders which is always interesting (and unpredictable). Using the Crackle technique the piece is fired twice in a glass kiln.

A favourite technique, crackle is created with blended powders which are manipulated to create the design and capped with Clear. After the first firing the organic edge of the piece is smoothed on a glass grinder and sandblasted before being fired in a mould to slump in to the bowl shape. I love the combination of French Vanilla and Dense white which reacts under heat to produce a soft dappled grey that complements most colour schemes. Whether used as a functional bowl or simply displayed for its beauty this bowl or trinket dish would sit well in any home
