Delicate and dangly – this ‘pair’ of small and dainty wild rose leaf earrings were made using silver clay paste to create a solid fine silver replica of the original leaves which have been paired with green-sea glass wrapped in fine silver wire .
These earrings were made using two similar sized leaves from two different wild rose bushes growing along the edge of fields where I live in the Hampshire countryside, which I layer painted with silver clay paste until it was thick enough to withstand the firing process. As it was fired all of the organic compounds in the clay burnt away, as too did any of the leaf that was still stuck to the clay. What is left after firing is solid fine (99.9% pure) silver.
The leaves and sea glass are hung from sterling silver wire hooks.
The end result is completely unique ‘pair’ of lightweight silver and sea glass earrings, hugged by nature, hand crafted with love and ready to wear with pretty much anything!
Dimensions
Leaves measure approx. 2cm in length x 1.1-1.3 wide
Sea glass measures 0.8 x 0.5cm (approx).
Total earring drop 4cm
Because each individual leaf in nature is different, so to is each of the leaves in this ‘pair’. Likewise, each piece of sea-glass has it’s own unique size and shape, so these are a similar, but not identical ‘pair’ of sea glass nuggets! These particular pieces came from Seaham, last time I was up there visiting my sister and her family.
The silver leaves I use for my designs are made in very small batches, often to order, so there is minimal impact on the plant or other wild users of the plant! Which also means, of course, that the finished piece is truly one of a kind – just like each individual leaf in nature!

Items will be processed and despatched within 3 working days and shipped by Royal Mail Tracked 24 as standard. Shipping is included in the price of all purchases unless stated or agreed otherwise, e.g. if you request to upgrade to special delivery.
I aim to minimise the amount of packaging I use when sending items to reduce waste, whilst also seeking to present the everyday treasures beautifully, and to treat the jewellery as the delicate and beautiful treasure it is, ensuring its safe passage through the British postal system!
All materials used for gift wrapping and packing are made from recycled and/or recyclable materials, which are sustainably sourced and British made where possible!
