A simple, shiny and dainty solid fine silver pendant with a delicate an understated imprint of Cow-Parsley – a native British hedgerow classic adorning our verges and paths throughout the spring and summer, with its umbrella shaped flower heads of delicate tiny white flowers.  The imprint has been aged using liver of sulpher to create the blackened design.

This bit of Cow parsley came from the edges of the fields where I live, in the South Downs in Hampshire on a regular walking route of mine.

Dimensions

Silver pendant measures 1.6cm diameter x 2mm thickness.

Total length of sterling silver chain including clasp measures 45cm/18 inches.

All my botanical designs, including this pendant, are made in very small batches, often to order, so there is minimal impact on the plant or other wild users of the plant! All of the imprint jewellery that I make, like this one, are similar in design, yet totally unique because no two plants, leaves or imprints are ever the same.  So you will know if you own one that there will never be another exactly like it – each finished piece is truly one of a kind – just like each individual leaf and flower in nature!

These designs begin life as precious metal silver clay, which is rolled out, imprinted and cut – sometimes I use a cutter to create more uniform circles, other times I go free-form – so there can be some irregularity in the form (which I see as being very like in nature!).  Once dried, a hole is carefully drilled and each piece is sanded smooth in the right places, by hand.  The piece is then ready for firing for which I use a blow torch.  The process of firing burns away the organic compounds in the clay, leaving behind a solid piece of fine silver (fine silver is 99.9% pure silver).

A unique, handmade necklace depicting a native hedgerow classic.

NBIf this is out of stock but you’d like one, please get in touch – I am happy to make a similar one to order whilst the leaves/flowers are still growing!!

All pieces are wrapped in tissue paper, placed in a kraft box/pillow box and tied with linen or sisal thread, ready for gifting, before being packaged in the postal box.

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.

I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
