Handcrafted Fine Silver Botanical Strawberry Pendant Necklace
£60.00
This fine silver pendant has been created entirely by hand using silver clay and a Strawberry leaf and flower petal taken from a plant in my garden in Hampshire. The leaf and petals were gently pressed into the clay, leaving a delicate imprint, which has been aged after firing to highlight the botanical details. The back of the pendant has been given a hammered texture. The firing, sanding, filing, polishing and ageing has all been done by hand. This is one of a small batch of botanical imprints I have made this year, and is completely unique.
Dimensions: Fine (999) silver pendant measures 1.8cm diameter x 1mm thickness; Total length of sterling silver chain including clasp measures 45cm/18 inches. Fastening is a traditional bolt ring clasp.
The necklace will arrive wrapped in pale green tissue paper fastened with linen thread, in a Hugged by Nature kraft box with a recycled insert. A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also popped in the box, which is then tied with thread and a gift tag added.
POSTAGE INCLUDED: The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
See Description tab for more details and information.
A beautiful solid fine silver pendant with a delicate imprint of the leaf and flower of the Strawberry plant. The leaf and blossom imprint has been highlighted by gently aging the design with liver of sulpher and the back of the pendant has been hammered for some extra sparkle.
This leaf and flower were taken from a plant growing in my garden, but you can often find strawberries in the hedgerows across the UK.
Dimensions
Silver pendant measures 1.8cm diameter x 1mm thickness.
Total length of sterling silver chain including clasp measures 45cm/18 inches.
All my botanical designs, including imprint necklace, are made in very small batches, often to order, so there is minimal impact on the plant or other wild users of the plant! All of the imprint jewellery that I make, like this one, are similar in design, yet totally unique because no two plants, leaves or imprints are ever the same. So you will know if you own one that there will never be another exactly like it – each finished piece is truly one of a kind – just like each individual leaf and flower in nature!
These designs begin life as precious metal silver clay, which is rolled out, imprinted and cut – sometimes I use a cutter to create more uniform circles, other times I go free-form – so there can be some irregularity in the form (which I see as being very like in nature!). Once dried, a hole is carefully drilled and each piece is sanded smooth in the right places, by hand. The piece is then ready for firing for which I use a blow torch. The process of firing burns away the organic compounds in the clay, leaving behind a solid piece of fine silver (fine silver is 99.9% pure silver).
The pendant is hung from a simple sterling silver chain.
A unique necklace, handmade with love and ready to wear everyday!
All my items will arrive wrapped in pale green recycled tissue paper fastened with linen thread, and in a recycled kraft pillow-box. A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also included. Additional gift wrap options are available.
The pillow box is sent in a recycled cardboard box filled with eco-friendly, responsibly sourced UK wood wool.
The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24 which is included. Other delivery methods are available on request.
COMMISSIONS: You may also like to know that I love taking special requests and commissions – perhaps to celebrate a special birthday or event, or maybe just to turn a favourite ‘something’ you have collected into a piece of jewellery you can wear. So if you’d like to talk about creating something truly unique and bespoke for you or someone in your life please do get in touch, I’d love to help. Previous commissions have included turning a customer’s own sea-glass into a necklace, handcrafting a Bramble flower for a 21st birthday, recreating a dangly Catkin for a favourite sister or some coffee bean earrings for a Barista. It’s also worth knowing that commissions don’t necessarily cost more than items in the shop – it depends what you have in mind – so it’s always worth a no-strings chat.

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.
I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
