Reproduction Ancient Egyptian Ceramic Figure
£10.00
A hand-carved reproduction ceramic Egyptian ‘Shabti’ statue.
In Ancient Egyptian history, Shabti figures (also known as shawbti or ushabti figures) made of wood, stone or ceramic were representations of servants, which were placed in the tomb and who would carry out the tasks required by the dead person in the underworld. I have hand-carved this reproduction from strong earthenware clay and highlighted the details using iron oxide.
This would make an interesting addition to your ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’.
The figure stands 16cm tall.

I am fascinated by Ancient Egyptian art and culture and enjoyed making this reproduction of a Shabti figure. I have paid great attention to modelling the details of the original historical artefact.
