Red statement earrings in polymer clay with Sterling silver posts

There are lots of reds about in summer fashion this year, which made me think of making some red statement earrings that would be a lovely match for a red summer dress or top. This is a design I also made in black and white and it looks just as striking in red, with my hand-drawn pattern in off-white.
I do love a post drop earring, I think they’re glamorous. Plus the stud post fitting keeps the drop pointing in the right direction and always looking the way you want it to. Imagine these with a red or cream cotton shirt or sundress and some retro sunnies on holiday!
They’re made and decorated completely by hand, so the pattern has a little bit of rustic human charm. I think the pattern has a bit of a tribal feel, yet they’re also rather smart earrings.
I connect my polymer clay components with handmade Sterling silver wire findings that are embedded into the clay, rather than unsoldered jump rings that can open up and allow half your earring to go AWOL. I’ve oxidised the silver to a very dark grey for these earrings, as I felt that bright silver would draw the eye and detract from the overall impact of the earrings.
They are super-light to wear, so even though they’re sizeable, at 5.5cm from the top of the stud fitting to the bottom of the drop, you’ll barely know you’re wearing them! Complete with Sterling silver posts and scroll backs.

I ship using Royal Mail Tracked 48. Most items cost £2.70 and arrive in about two days. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade to Tracked 24 for a small additional cost.
