This purple amethyst gemstone necklace is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any outfit. Purple amethyst gemstone necklace set in a silver pendant setting which I have handmade using traditional jewellery making techniques. I set this gem in a handmade silver setting with a large beaded wire loop on the top.
This striking amethyst necklace is a pretty purple colour and this gem is thought to promote calmness and relieve stress.
The amethyst is set in a rubover style setting. The silver is pushed over the stone making the setting really secure.
The pendant measures approx 18mm at the widest part of the loop and 35mm from the bottom of the setting to the top of the triple loops where the chain passes through.
Suspended on an 18 inch silver chain the pendant is handmade from sterling silver. You can choose a longer chain or an extender option from the drop down if you prefer.
Gemstone
Amethyst is a quartz crystal which comes in a range of shades from lavender to rich purple. This particular gem has a deep purple hue. This gem is thought to promote calmness and relieve stress.
Amethyst was one of the cardinal gemstones historically used by royalty which also included diamonds, rubies, sapphire and emeralds.
Amethyst is the birthstone for February.

Jewellery Care
Please take care not to get products such as hairspray, perfume and cleaning products near your jewellery; they can affect the silver by tarnishing it and could affect any gemstone or pearl colours and surface.
I would recommend removing jewellery before bathing, swimming and going to bed and storing in the box when not being worn.
Use a soft silver polishing cloth as required to clean the silver.
