This 1940s style brooch was inspired by the make do and mend jewellery of 1940s wartime Britain.
During WW2, clothes rationing significantly limited the availability of new garments. As a result, women began to realise the importance of making their existing clothes last longer. With shrinking wardrobes, accessories took on greater significance in providing variety and style with a limited amount of clothing.
These brooches serve as a testament to the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the era, where women found creative ways to ring the changes and make the most of their wardrobes.
