This is a small original watercolour painting of a Kingfisher. I love painting Kingfishers as they are so brightly coloured they are a joy to paint. The bright blue feathers change to an iridescent green in the light, with a glow of orange on the belly and flashes of orange around the head. It’s long, sharp beak ready to catch a fish for its dinner.

I paint on 170gsm art paper using Winsor & Newton watercolours and with paintings this small, I use a magnifying glass.

The painting comes with an off-white mount, ready for framing.  Picture including mount measures 20.2cm x 15.2cm
