One of a kind mermaid sculpture. This is the perfect gift for wild swimmers.
‘May’ is a mermaid taking a rest on the shore before diving back in to the deep waters.
She is made by hand entirely from coloured wire of different thicknesses. Starting off as a stick figure, layer by layer of wire is added on to build up her final shape. In this instance, she is predominantly copper coloured wire with silver coloured wire for her hair.
The sculpture is sits approximately 15cms high above her bottom, with her tail dangling by 12cm (27cm length in total) At her widest point she measures approximately 10cm. She’ll need approximately an area of about 10 x 6cm to sit on.
For indoor display only, the wire will tarnish and change colour over time, particularly on exposure to sunlight or if displayed in a damp area. To preserve the colour for longer, don’t display in direct sunlight.
Every care has been taken to tuck in the exposed wire ends, however there may still be some sharp ends so care should be taken on handling.
