Handmade Silver and White Sea Glass Drop Earrings
£35.00
One-of-a-kind, handmade white sea glass earrings. Each of these beautifully bubbly, smooth and frosted bean-shaped pieces of sea glass were found by me on the beach at Seaham in Co-Durham. Every piece of sea glass that is found on beaches, has had its own unique journey with the sea and sand, so no two pieces are the same: which makes discovering two pieces that are so similar very unusual. In order to allow as much of the old glass to be seen as possible I have simply drilled the glass and then wrapped the top with fine silver wire, creating a loop from which to hang them from a sterling silver hook.
The result is a pair of unique, snowy white sea-glass earrings, that reflect the chilly frosty mornings of winter. They’d make a great gift for sea glass and nature lovers too.
Details: Earrings measure approx. 3.8cm from the top of the hook to the bottom of the sea glass. Each ‘bean’ measures 1.7cm x 1.3cm x 0.4cm (approx.); Wire is fine silver; hooks are sterling silver.
The earrings will arrive wrapped in pale green tissue paper fastened with linen thread, and in a kraft pillow-box. A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also included.
Additional gift wrap options are available, see below.
POSTAGE INCLUDED: The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24.

A truly one of a kind, unique pair of sea glass earrings.
These ‘beans’ with the characteristic signs of properly ‘old’ glass were both found on the beach at Seaham in County Durham on the NOrth East Coast of England. I have family up there, so when I’m visiting, and if I have time, like to sneak in a trip to the beach, with all eyes to help! Seaham is famous amongst sea glass collectors because in Victorian times there was a glass factory there, which used to dump waste into the sea which has lead to an abundance of sea glass now to be found some 100 or more years later. The glass comes in a wide range of colours, including what are known as ‘multis’ where there two more colours in once piece. Because I don’t get up there very often it’s a real treat to go, and whilst I don’t usually find many large pieces (the serious collectors snaffle those!) I love all the small and tiny but perfectly formed pieces I do find. Whilst White is common colour to find, these are a particularly great example of naturally aged, bubbly frosty sea glass, and to find two so similar in size and weathered-ness was truly special.
All my items will arrive wrapped in pale green recycled tissue paper fastened with linen thread, and in a recycled kraft pillow-box. A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also included. Additional gift wrap options are available.
The pillow box is sent in a recycled cardboard box filled with eco-friendly, responsibly sourced UK wood wool.
The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24 which is included. Other delivery methods are available on request.
COMMISSIONS: You may also like to know that I love taking special requests and commissions – perhaps to celebrate a special birthday or event, or maybe just to turn a favourite ‘something’ you have collected into a piece of jewellery you can wear. So if you’d like to talk about creating something truly unique and bespoke for you or someone in your life please do get in touch, I’d love to help. Previous commissions have included turning a customer’s own sea-glass into a necklace, handcrafting a Bramble flower for a 21st birthday, recreating a dangly Catkin for a favourite sister or some coffee bean earrings for a Barista. It’s also worth knowing that commissions don’t necessarily cost more than items in the shop – it depends what you have in mind – so it’s always worth a no-strings chat.

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.
I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
