A handmade nuno felted cowl which I have made from soft merino wool and  viscose fibres which have a soft sheen to them.

Fully reversible: on one side I have created swirled patterns of green wool yarn and green leaf shapes of viscose fibres over a vibrant pink background; on the other, beautiful looped pink boucle wool flows over green wool and viscose.

I create pieces inspired by my local environment and love to play with combining colours. In the process of felting, the wool fibres penetrate the viscose fibres and hold it in place, and  it softly ruches and gathers as the wool fibres shrink and mesh together giving a lovely crinkly pattern. The whole process takes several hours.  It has a lovely drape and feels super soft against the skin.

Fabric Care: it is best to wash this scarf by hand if you can, or use the handwash setting on your machine with nothing else in it. The process of making felt involves warm water, soap and agitation. This is exactly what your washing machine does. There is a risk of further shrinkage if you agitate it further in hot soapy water. Using natural soap also helps it to keep its lustre and drape.
It can be spun to extract most of the water, or rolled in a towel and pressed (stand on it) before hanging somewhere warm to dry completely. Finish off with a gentle steam iron to restore its shape and lustre.

I use Royal Mail as far as possible
International shipping is currently restricted to a few countries outside the UK but if you cannot see your location for shipping, please get in touch as I am happy to obtain a one off quote for your region.
Outside the UK, the buyer is responsible for any import taxes that come due.
