Handmade Fine Silver Ammonite and Sea Glass Pendant Necklace One of a Kind

£70.00

This unique,  handmade, dainty, fine silver ammonite pendant, which has detail on both sides, was created using an original ammonite fossil I found on the beach at Charmouth in Dorset, from which I created a two-part mould. I then used the mould with eco-friendly silver clay, which once dried and then fired leaves a fine silver replica of the original ammonite. After a gentle polish, leaving a slightly matt finish, I added a small fine silver wire-wrapped Teal-blue sea-glass charm, and a Sterling Silver chain, to create this unique necklace that will connect you with nature and the sea every time you wear it. Because each piece of sea glass is unique, and each handmade ammonite is different, there will never be another necklace exactly like this one.

Details: The ammonite, which features details of both sides of the original, measures approx. 1cm x 1.2cm x 0.3cm; Teal sea glass measures 0.8cm x 0.5cm x 0.3cm; recycled sterling silver 1.4mm belcher chain measures 45cm (18inches) including clasp.

The necklace will arrive wrapped in pale green tissue paper fastened with linen thread, in a Hugged by Nature kraft box with a recycled insert.  A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also popped in the box, which is then tied with thread and a gift tag added.

Additional gift wrap options are available, see below.

POSTAGE INCLUDED: The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24.

See Description tab for more details and information.

This handmade fine silver two-sided ammonite pendant was made using a mould of the original ammonite fossil, one I found on the beach at Charmouth in Dorset, and eco-friendly silver clay.  Silver clay is a blend of tiny slivers of waste silver with an organic compound and water, to create a very malleable clay-like material that can be used in many different ways, and once dried it is fired, which burns off all the organic binders leaving behind solid fine silver – which is 99.9% pure silver.   In this case the firing created a fine silver replica of the original ammonite. After a gentle polish, I added a small fine silver wire-wrapped Teal-blue sea-glass charm, and a Sterling Silver chain, to create this unique necklace that will connect you with nature and the sea every time you wear it.

All my items will arrive wrapped in pale green recycled tissue paper fastened with linen thread, and in a recycled kraft pillow-box.  A little handwritten note explaining a bit about the piece is also included. Additional gift wrap options are available.

The pillow box is sent in a recycled cardboard box filled with eco-friendly, responsibly sourced UK wood wool.

The package will be shipped in 1-3 days and sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24 which is included.  Other delivery methods are available on request.

COMMISSIONS:  You may also like to know that I love taking special requests and commissions – perhaps to celebrate a special birthday or event, or maybe just to turn a favourite ‘something’ you have collected into a piece of jewellery you can wear.   So if you’d like to talk about creating something truly unique and bespoke for you or someone in your life please do get in touch, I’d love to help. Previous commissions have included turning a customer’s own sea-glass into a necklace, handcrafting a Bramble flower for a 21st birthday, recreating a dangly Catkin for a favourite sister or some coffee bean earrings for a Barista.   It’s also worth knowing that commissions don’t necessarily cost more than items in the shop – it depends what you have in mind – so it’s always worth a no-strings chat.

Returns and Refunds

All of my pieces are handmade with a lot of love and I take great pride in everything I make, and in seeing a smile on your face! I am a strong believer in hand-made meaning quality and also that because each piece is individually made by hand there sometimes may be irregularities on the surface reflecting the organic nature of the materials I work with , which creates truly one of a kind pieces.

I also know that occasionally things might go awry, and if you find that you have a problem with your item please contact me straight away so we can discuss how best to resolve the situation.
